Summer randomness...

Her evil, scrunchy-face side. This is what she does when she gets mad at us.
Sam (the sitter's son) pushing her in the swing. He loves Madelynn and makes her smile, as he says. So cute.

Monkeying around!

Watching TV with her doll in her car seat.

Reading a book in her rocking chair.

I'm gonna get you

She tries to put her pillow and blanket in the little chair all at the same time.

Playing in the blanket

Backyard pool time...

Best friends. Peanut is amazing with Madelynn. She was never very interested in the other kids and we were very worried about how she would act when Madelynn came along. After ignoring me for the first month or so I guess she got over it and decided Madelynn was staying. Now they have so much fun together. After Peanut drank out of the pool Madelynn bent over and drank out of the pool just like the dog.

Ohhh, cold water.

Well, I think these pictures say it all....she is so much fun and it is just amazing to spend time with her. She is so interested in the world around her and never seems scared to check it out. She is our own little curious Madelynn. I can't believe how much she has changed during the summer. Now we are onto our next adventure...soccer season. I am sure there will be some great stories out there.

1st Baseball game

Mommy and baby enjoying the game! Wearing daddy's hat!

Dukes night at the Isotopes was so much fun. Madelynn was amazing. We were there until 11:30 and she was happy as a clam. She loved the fireworks at the end...which were amazing.

It was such a great night and all thanks to Bruce. He planned the whole thing and invited the whole family. All 16 of us went together. I am not sure how much game watching actually went on but from one time to another I saw people eating ice cream, hot dogs, cotton candy, french fries, peanuts and drinking all different types of drinks. The kids were very sticky and constantly moved between the 3 rows of seats we had. Even Reina was there to see her 1st game and I think she really enjoyed it. I can't wait to take her to another game next year. Fantastic family time!

Family Pool Time

We all went to the pool on Sunday and had such a good time. Madelynn is getting so adventurous. We even went down the slide.

Chillin' with daddy in the pool. So relaxing.

Blessings

As I watched Madelynn at the pool for the first time today I realized how blessed I am. Over the years I have spent many wonderful days with my nieces, nephew, and friends' kids playing at the pool, going down the slide, playing at Big Bounce, going to football games, having sleep-overs, making pizza, gingerbread houses, and cookies. I cherish these days and look forward to more.

But, as I watched my baby girl in the pool for the first time today I realized how blessed I am to now do these things with my own baby. As I see the wonder of exploring things for the first time, watching her as the water splashes on her and the sun shines in her crystal blue eyes my heart bursts with joy.

All of the times I experienced these with other special kids in my life were just a small taste of this wonderful experience. I knew I had a precious opportunity then to watch these wonderful kids grow up, but I never knew how blessed and privileged I would feel to experience these moments with my own little one. God is so gracious to allow me this and I am so thankful.

Fourth of July 2011

Riding a trike with her cousin Grady. She has the best cousins ever. They love playing with her and she loves it too (even her cousins she doesn't see very often). I just can't believe how much she has changed.

We went to watch fireworks with Aunt Pat and Uncle Larry's friends again. They love seeing how big she was and she love walking around on the rocks. She loved the fireworks this year and kept saying, "Oooo!" It was very cute.

Last year's 4th of July

I just can't believe how much she has changed from last year at this time. I found this outfit in a box the other day. It was so tiny. I would take two of them to cover her back at this point. Pictures of this year to come...

Mini Bruce

No argument here, Madelynn totally looks like Bruce. She even has the same facial expressions at times. People are always saying, "She looks just like her dad!"

I always respond with, "Yes, but pretty" Her hair is much darker, granted he was basically bald until he was 2. So he pretty much looks just like he does now.

What a cute pair!!!
