Fleece sleeping bag...just another quick project

I found this project, yes, on Pinterest (I will look up the orginal site I just can't see to find it right now) but it was for a doll sleeping bag.  I decided to make one for Madelynn.
She chose the fabric herself, which I LOVE because it says Science Rocks!  Fantastic.
There are 3 different fabrics - 3 layers.  I bought a yard of each and just lined them up, trimmed the edges, cut a 4x4 inch square from each corner (remember to fold the top layer down.  I just guessed on this part.).  Then I cut 1" strips 4" long all the way around ( I used a 4x4inch piece of cardboard as a guide and then drew 1" lines on it to help space the strips correctly).
Then you tie them together just like you were make a blanket.  On the sections where there are 3 pieces of fabric I kept two together and tied it to the top one.  I did this in about an hour so it is really not that hard.

She climbed right in this morning when she saw it.  Then she started filling it with "stuff".  I guess with the girl hears the word "bag" she just can't help herself.  I have a little fabric left and I am going to try to make a little pillow.  I will let you know how this goes.

Valentine's Day Shirts

This is the shirt I made for Madelynn and her friends for Valentine's Day.  I have to say, I am quite happy with the way it came out.  It really wasn't that hard so let me tel you how I did it.

I chose ribbons that went with a Valentine's theme.  I cut the size of heart I wanted out of card stock.  Then I selected the ribbons and laid them, with some space between them, on the heart.  I put a little tape on them to secure them there.  Then I cut them out in the heart shape.
I decided I wanted them to stay on a little better so I bought fusible hem strips.  I cut them to the size of each ribbon and ironed them on 1st.  (Be careful with some of the satin ribbon that you don't melt it.  You can place an extra piece of material over if you would like)
Then I stitched line on the top and bottom of each ribbon.  I stitched around the curved part of the heart also.  My stitching is not great, but I am still happy with the result.  It even washed up well!
Madelynn's pre-school group

Cuttie girls!  This is Madelynn, Britten and Bentley (two of Miss Ruth's kids).  She made the bows for the kids.
I think I might try this with a shamrock for St. Patrick's Day, but I better start a little early; it might be tough.

Just a few more projects

Just a couple more aprons.  I think I may have to start charging for these...maybe I could make a few extra bucks.

Little Aviators hats.  I just love these.  Madelynn has on the one I made for Baby Brayden so it doesn't really fit her, but she still looks cute :)  I am working on a owl one for her now.  I am sure all the crafting will come to a halt as soon as soccer starts.

Shelby's Birthday book.  She doesn't actually have it yet but I will get it sent to her (It is a little pricey to send things to Alaska)
Yes, of course most of these ideas are off Pinterest.  In this book you ask them the same quesitons each year on their birthday to see how their answers have changed and then put a photo from their birthday.  I did birthdays 3-10.  Can't wait to see these some day when they are older.  Now I have a few month to get Kennedy's and Madelynn's made for their 3rd birthdays.

Motorcycle diaper cake.  I have a baby shower next week and thought this would be perfect.  It was so easy.  Actually easier than the diaper cake.  But the one thing I like about a diaper cake is all the "stuff" I can add to it as gifts.  I couldn't do that with this so I decided the lamb needed a trailer to pull behind loaded with gifts.  Hope she enjoys it.

Keeping busy..

Here are a few updates from our busy summer and some of my pinterest projects (yes, I am addicted and I can admit it...that's is the 1st step right?)
i wanted some way to organize Madelynn's "craft" stuff so I could keep it in the dining room.  Baskets are expensive and then I remember that I had this diaper cady that we don't use anymore and it is perfect for her craft stuff.  Now it is easy to get and still looks nice.
Our little monkey.  We, well I, redid Madelynn's bathroom (because we moved her stuff into our bathroom).  I love it.  I cant' decide if I want to paint the walls or not, but we will wait to see.  I just love the cute little monkeys.
Madelynn's new "hair accessories" organizing station.  I can't believe I found monkey fabric in the exact colors I needed.  It was really pretty easy and I love it.

Well, I didn't realize I had such a problem with ribbon until i put it all in one place.  Wow, I need to come up with some projects to use it, which is where the project above started.  At least it is all in one spot now and organized.

My mostly finished bathroom.  Still a few finishing touches and some painting touch ups but I will get to those. I found a cabinet I really want.  This is a "towel rack" my friend Sara made.  It looks great in here but we need something on Bruce's side.

I love this wall.  It is like a red "throne room".  I guess we need some "bling" from the throne :)

And this is how my little princess spent her time while I was "organizing" the craft room.

I just love these pictures.  She is so cute!!!

She is such a good little mommy.  She loves her babies.
Oh, and one more apron for the summer.  I have at least 2 more to get finished.  Maybe next week.

Just for you Jessica

Madelynn's kitchen.  Is this a better picture?  How do you like the hair?  She took her hair ties out and had just gotten up from a nap.
Bathroom Mirror project.  Still don't have things painted and don't really know when I will have the time.  The top tiles were much harder than I thought they would be; as you can see with all the tape up top.  It turned out fine(but it is hard to get a good picture of it), but a little uneven on top...just don't look too closely.

I hope to have more pictures in the next couple weeks.

Wow, time flies

Ok, so the old way blogger way it loaded the pictures in the reverse order, so that is what I did and I guess it doesn't do that anymore.  So, all of these are backwards.
This is one of my Pinterest projects.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.  It was so easy and it was fun planting with Madelynn
So, yes I need to learn to measure.  I tried to make her an apron.  Which i actually love the way it turned out, but it is way too big.  I may have to pass this one onto Cassidy and try it again.

I think we are in trouble.  She is texting Grandma and wearing her glasses while she watches TV with daddy.  Can you say, "Teenage years, here we come!!"

Taking a trip!!!  Yes, to you it is a cabinet were you can find the crockpot and George Grill but to a two-year old it is a trip to Wal-Mart or Grandma's.  She and Cassidy "traveled" for quite awhile.
And playing some video games...she is getting way to big.
Impromptu trip to Colorado Springs to see the Lutz' and Baby Brayden.  It was so much fun to surprise them, plus we got to see the Stitts one last time.
Seeing Jessica's face made it all worth it!  She just kept saying, "I can't believe you're here."  It was fantastic and I can't wait to come back in a couple weeks.
Cousins!!!  Good times at Aunt Pat's house
Meghan's going away party.  So much fun!!!
Simile ladies!
