What do you ask of a diaper bag? What do you require it to have? I know I want something cute and fun (not just plain old black or brown...boring for me). But what features do you want it to have? What size is a good size? Do I need more than one? One for daycare and one for quick trips? These are the big questions in my mind today as I shop instead of teach (our track meet got canceled so I wasn't supposed to be here this afternoon so I don't feel like doing anything). I have looked at a ton on this cute site http://www.littledudesanddivas.com/
but I still am not sure what I really want. So I am looking for advice.

the bag you like is awesome...love the pattern! you'll like the option to wear it as a backpack so you are hands free (no slipping off the shoulder and such) plus the stroller attachments rock. just don't leave them on the cart at walmart like i did=) and the inside is very organized which will keep you from digging around trying to find something when you have a screaming infant or a child rolling around on the ground throwing a fit! good choice.
ReplyDeletei wrote a long comment and it disappeared! anyway, i have 3 diaper bags...two that are really diaper bags and one that is a purse. many of the oversized purses these days can be diaper bags as well and then you don't feel like you're carrying a diaper bag. my first bag came from fleurville.com and had a place for everything and can easily be cleaned which comes in handy. my second came from loomlife.com and has a detachable purse for times when i go without the kids. i have actually thrown the whole thing in the wash too. my third is a bag that i really liked when we were at disney world last summer. i drive mike crazy because i love bags and purses so i'm always eyeing them. i think its nice to be able to switch it up sometimes so having the option to do that is nice=)
ReplyDeleteThe fleurville site is actually one of the other bags I was looking at. I have about 4-5 that I like in varrying sizes. I love bags also so I sure it will be a fun accessory.
ReplyDeleteI have had one for each car so that I didn't have to worry for short trips. But if she's going to rarely go in one of the cars that isn't nessesary.
ReplyDeleteLast time I wanted a big bright purse that did double duty. The one I had was a Vera Bradley.
I'm sure you will want a specific one for daycare that always gets packed as part of your routine.
As the baby gets older you need less stuff too so that lets you change bags again.:)
Have fun choosing.
Cute is very important. Lots of pockets, so you're keys and wallet and cellphone don't always sink to the bottom. I liked having a big one for church, etc and then a small backpack which would hold a few diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes for short excursions. Marie's right, as they get older they need less, I got to the point at about 1 year where I would just stick a diaper and baggy full of wipes in my purse and then go.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I can't wait!
I had two diaper bags. One for longer outings and one for quick ones. I loved that my larger diaper bag could be worn as a back pack. Lot's of pockets are a must. Also a pocket that wet stuff can be put in. Insulated bottle pockets are good to.
ReplyDeleteOf course it has to look cute too :) I loved seeing Jeff walk around with my very cute diaper bag! (Of course, I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it.)
The smaller bags for short excursions are great to leave in the car too in case, for whatever reason, you need an extra diaper or wipes.
